Shenzhen, China: DuPont Apollo Opens Thin Film PV Production Facility. DuPont Apollo has opened its silicon based thin-film PV module manufacturing facility in China. The 538,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility will have an annual capacity of up to 50 MW.

KSK Surya Photovoltaic Venture, Private Limited (KSK), a subsidiary of KSK Power Ventur plc, a leading independent power provider in India, has signed a contract with Applied Materials, Inc. to purchase two Applied SunFab™ Thin Film Lines.

Blaubeuren, Germany: New Polysilicon Facility Starts Up in China. The silicon division of centrotherm photovoltaics AG has just marked up an additional success, namlye the company's one hundred percent subsidiary, centrotherm SiTec GmbH, has put a plant into operation to manufacture polysilicon at its customer Shaanxi Tianhong Silicon Industrial Corporation at Xian City in China.

Truebbach, Switzerland: Oerlikon Receives 120MW Thin Film Manufacturing Plant Order. Oerlikon Solar today announced that Nano Solar Technology Ltd. (NST), a newly formed Russian high-tech firm, has ordered a 120 MW end-to-end Micromorph® line for production of thin film solar modules.

Kuching, Malaysia: Tokuyama to Construct 6,000 Ton Polysilicon Facility. Tokuyama Corporation has decided to build a new factory in Sarawak, Malaysia, to manufacture polycrystalline silicon for solar cells. The new factory will be constructed at the Samalaju Industrial Park.

Bonn, Germany: SolarWorld to Expand Module Capacity to 450 Megawatts. Solarworld AG is to expand its production capacity for solar power modules in Freiberg in Saxony. The capacity will be tripled to 450 megawatts by the end of 2010.

Sonderborg, Denmark: Danfoss Solar to Raise Inverter Production Capacity to 1 GW. Danfoss Solar says the demand for its grid-connected solar inverter range has increased significantly in 2009. As a result, Danfoss is now preparing for further growth in 2010 by increasing production capacity to 1 GW.

Pocatello, ID, USA: Hoku and JH Kelly Agree on Path Forward to Complete Construction of Polysilicon Plant. Hoku Materials has entered into a change order cost plus incentive agreement under its construction contract with JH Kelly, LLC, to confirm the plan for JH Kelly to complete construction of Hoku's planned 4,000 metric tons per year polysilicon production plant.

Wixom, MI, USA: Oerlikon Solar and Clairvoyant Energy Plan Thin Film Manufacturing Facility. A group of renewable energy companies has joined forces with Ford and the State of Michigan on a plan to convert the 320-acre Wixom Ford Motor Co. assembly plant outside Detroit into a renewable energy manufacturing park.
